The Song of Sunshine

August 12, 2011
Rhode Island

I hear the birds. They are singing, laughing, dancing in the sunshine. The sky is a tapestry of blue, the air is fresh and clean. I see them, their sharp eyes scanning the ground, looking, searching, waiting. They work. They never seem to rest. And yet they sing. Perhaps the worms will sleep in tomorrow. Perhaps a storm will shatter the sky--who can tell? Yes, winter is coming. But today there is sunshine. They are singing about it. They are enjoying life. They sing because He watches them.

Then sings my soul. He shines as the Eternal Light, the Everlasting Sunshine to my soul.

"The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light." --Revelation 21:23

Not a surge of worry, not a shade of care, not a blast of hurry, touch the spirit there.
