A High Privilege

Right now we have an opportunity, a privilege that millions no longer have, that thousands will lose today.

I miss it sometimes. This huge opportunity I have simply because I am breathing, blinking, smiling.

So what's the deal?
We can bless the Lord.

We have this privilege because we are alive.
Simply because we are not dead.

"The dead do not praise the Lord, nor any who go down into silence. But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forevermore." Psalm 115:17

Oh that our mouths would be filled with thanksgiving, dripping with gratitude, speaking forth blessing!

-----

How do we bless the Lord? Well, to get started...

1) Give thanks. It's a choice. No more complaining about circumstances, people, uncertainties.
"Oh that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing." -Psalm 107:221-22

2) Speak well of God. What we say about God to others, how we respond to our situations (such as whether or not we fear or stress) evidences what we truly believe.
"Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!" Psalm 105:2-3

3) Remember what He has done.
"They [the Israelites] did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, but rebelled..." Psalm 106:7
"Remember His marvelous works which He has done..." Psalm 105:5

---

So let's get to it! :) We have a high privilege today just by being alive. We have the opportunity to bless the King of kings.
