Majesty. Triumph. Victory. Adventure. This is Christianity, and this is the epic life. Jesus Himself is our Captain, our Mighty Man, the Warrior of warriors. Everything we could fear, He has conquered. Everything that could defeat us, He has crushed. He Himself, the God of peace, has crushed Satan under His heel. Satan hurled his worst at us, intending to destroy us and cut us off from life, but Jesus was our Intercessor:
He stood in the gap and took the hit.
Who is our Victor? The Lord of hosts is His Name. He is the Man of strength, the Defender of the weak, the Rescuer of the despised, the Healer of the wounded, the Redeemer of the captives. He will not break the bruised reed, and He will not quench the smoldering flax. He rides on a white horse, a sword coming from His mouth, and His Name is Faithful and True. Jesus the Messiah, Yeshua Hamachiach, embodies everything that we can admire, everything that we can respect, everything that is worthy of emulation. He is the Perfect Man.
We who are Christians have His life in us. He is our Intercessor; He is our Life. And this is a life worth living: a life with passion and direction that goes beyond the visible to the invisible world of the heavenlies. But it’s not about the blessing or the adventure; it’s about Him. He must increase, and we must decrease. We are strangers and sojourners on this earth. We are warriors in His kingdom, and we are to seek His kingdom first. We are commissioned to destroy the works of the devil, to rescue the weak, to defend the fatherless in His Name. He has provided us the armor, the power, the strength, and the battlefield. We fight in His Name and for His kingdom. He is the Lion of Judah; let us go forth in the echo of His roar.
