Daily Bread

"If we continually try to bring back those exceptional moments of inspiration, it is a sign that it is not God we want. We are becoming obsessed with the moments when God did come and speak with us, and we are insisting that He do it again. But what God wants us to do is to "walk by faith." --Oswald Chambers

Take the daily bread. Don't idolize last week's sweet bread or last year's whole-wheat; today's bread is fresh. “And this is the promise that He has promised us: eternal life" (1 John 2:25). He has promised us eternal life--which is life for the past, for the future, and for today.  Now.

My inheritance today is life—assuredly and without doubt, for He has promised it. The difference in this minute between life and death, Spirit and flesh, is faith. By faith I seize the inheritance that He has lavished on me: Life. I have a legal hold to enter this promised land.

"Jesus and all in Him is mine."
